Mapalim are currently recruiting for hard working, motivated and creative individuals to work at our half term Chillout Academy playscheme! We're offering a Diploma in playwork alongside the job, plus a salary of £220. It's a great opportunity to get work experience and a qualification to further your employment.

For outstanding candidates there is also the possibility of progressing onto a management course, working as a manager of other Playworkers whilst helping to run the logistics of a play scheme.

Intake dates: (one week training followed by one week of work)

12th - 23rd December
6th - 17th February
26th March – 6th April
28th May – 8th June

The Programme:

You will attend a one-week training session in which you will cover:
 

• Promoting positive behaviour and play

• Communication

• Health, safety and wellbeing

• You will also complete assignments towards a Level 2 Diploma in Playwork.
  This can help you pursue a career as a youth and community worker, play therapist,
  playworker or supervisory role in a childcare setting.

• The following week you will spend working as a play worker at Mapalim’s Chillout Academy for 5-11 year olds. You will organise and implement all the activities and workshops for the children, whilst completing your qualification during the week.
  

  
  Aspects to the week:
  

• There will be 3 themes for the week. Previous themes have included superheroes, fairytale and music. You will design your projects around these.
• As part of your qualification you will do 2 child observations, looking at their physical and emotional development.
