Free CAVA assessor training course in childcare

Are you looking to train as an NVQ assessor? We're offering a free course where you will gain the AVA award that will leave you fully qualified to be an assessor for any training body. Assessing is a great addition to your career, freelance OR full time. This assessor training course is currently recruiting for candidates with qualifications and/or experience in the children and young people’s workforce.
 

By doing the course, you will automatically be screened for our current childcare assessor positions. For this reason, we are ideally looking for candidates who are not in full time work and are available and looking for an assessor role. At the end of the course, we will be recruiting childcare assessors from suitable course graduates.

Key benefits of the course:

*5 weeks in length, usually 1 year.

Key requirements:

*Preferably have a Level 2 qualification in childcare or youthwork (equivalent or higher)
*VERY proficient in administration and IT Telecoms.
*You must be over 19.
*You must not already have an AVA, A1 or D32/33 qualification.
*Not in full time work, available and looking to start working as a childcare NVQ assessor.

Course structure:

• Courses run every 5 weeks.
• 4 days intensive training, which will include general assessing techniques and methods, online assessment training and you will learn how to assess the NVQ in IT Telecoms. You will also receive a training manual.
• 1 of the 5 weeks training, you will assess 2 learners undertaking the NVQ IT Telecoms qualification and be assessed at the same time for your AVA qualification.
• You will spend 9 days in total in the Mapalim office. The remainder of the course is for you to complete assessments in your own time.

Course start dates are: 05/12/11, 30/01/12, 05/03/12, 09/04/12, 14/05/12, 18/06/12.

This course will run every 5 weeks throughout the year.
