Supported Living with Mapalim
We are very excited about this rapidly growing service area as the newest addition to our organisation. Building on our strong reputation for excellence in Children’s Services and Workforce Development, we are commencing a series of long-term Supported Living Services. Through our launch project, Empower, we are establishing a new service for people with learning disabilities. In accordance with the National Care Standards, we will provide accommodation and flexible nursing care, personal care or support to vulnerable adults, aged 18 or over.

A Sustainable Alternative to Care Homes
In partnership with property developers, we are able to provide an alternative to standard national care facilities by offering bespoke person-centred support for differing degrees of ability and need. Our Supported Living solutions have been designed for long-term, sustainable independent living. This is why Mapalim homes are Supported Living and not care homes.

Consultation & Support Services
Mapalim also provide consultation and project management services for other organisations in the Adult Care Sector, including those who care for people with drug and alcohol misuse problems.

Leadership
Adult Services is led by Service Development Manager, Mikkel Togsverd, who recently joined the Mapalim team after eight years with Mencap UK. Mikkel has extensive experience in setting up and managing generalised and specialised inclusive services for people with learning disabilities at senior management level and as well as direct service provision.

Approach
At Mapalim we have a fresh and innovative approach to Service User Involvement, IT, Quality Assurance, Workforce Development and Risk Management. We have designed quality yet cost-effective systems that provide new opportunities, choices and independence to people with learning disabilities across the South of England.

Clients
