What is the Level 3 Award in Playwork for Early Years and Childcare Workers?
This qualification is one of two 'transitional' qualifications which have been developed in order to support workers to move from one sector to another. This qualification meets the needs of candidates who work or want to work in settings whose main purpose is Playwork and who already hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
This qualification covers the following modules:
The theory and practice of children and young people's play
Aspects of Playwork practice
Who is eligible for this qualification?
Candidates must hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development or Early years, such as the Level 3 NVQ in Childrens's Care, Learning and Development.
Candidates must also have access to a setting whose main purpose is Playwork. Learners must observe practice in a Playwork setting either as an employee, or a volunteer or by visiting.
This qualification is not approved for use by candidates under the age of 16. Restrictions apply to candidates under the age of 18 working unsupervised with children
